The Lightning acquired right wing Alex Berry and forward Stefano Giliati from the Maple Leafs today in exchange for defenseman Matt Lashoff, Vice President and GM Steve Yzerman announced. Berry played in 55 games with the AHL?s Toronto Marlies last season, recording three goals and seven points. His 97 penalty minutes ranked sixth among all Marlies skaters. Berry has played in 63 career AHL games during the previous two seasons. Giliati played in 25 games with the Marlies in 2009-10, recording three goals and nine points. He has played in 78 career AHL games, registering nine goals and 24 points with 24 penalty minutes. Lashoff played in 68 games for the Norfolk Admirals of the AHL in 2009-10. He collected 24 points on eight goals and 16 assists, and ranked second on Norfolk in penalty minutes with 105. He also played five games with the Lightning last season.

The Lightning have acquired goaltender Cedrick Desjardins from the Canadiens today in exchange for goaltender Karri Ramo, Vice President and GM Steve Yzerman announced. "We are happy to be able to add Cedrick to the Lightning today," said Yzerman upon making the announcement. "With his American Hockey League experience, he will provide excellent goaltending depth for the organization, allowing us to be patient while Dustin Tokarski and Jaroslav Janus further mature and develop." Desjardins, 6-foot, 194-pounds, has played in 90 career AHL games, recording a 49-27-5 record, 2.34 goals-against average and a .909 save percentage. He has played all his AHL games with the Hamilton Bulldogs, including career-highs last season for games played with 45, wins with 29, minutes with 2,576, shutouts with six, goals-against average with 2.00 and tied his best for save percentage with .919. Last season he led the AHL in goals-against average, ranked second in shutouts, fourth in wins and was tied for sixth in save percentage.

Predators President of Hockey Operations/GM David Poile announced today that the club has acquired a conditional fifth-round pick in the 2011 Entry Draft in exchange for restricted free agent forward Michael Santorelli. The Predators now have nine selections in next summer?s Entry Draft. In addition to Florida?s pick, and seven picks of its own, Nashville acquired a second-round pick from New Jersey in June. Santorelli was a sixth-round choice of the Predators (178th overall) in the 2004 Draft.

Rangers President and General Manager Glen Sather announced today that the Rangers have acquired center Todd White from the Thrashers, in exchange for forwards Donald Brashear and Patrick Rissmiller. White, 35, has skated in 635 career regular season games with the Blackhawks, Flyers, Senators, Wild and Thrashers, registering 140 goals and 239 assists for 379 points, along with 226 penalty minutes and a plus-21 rating. The 12-year NHL veteran has reached the 20-goal and 50-point plateaus three times, and has registered 75 career multi-point performances.
